Dear Patients, Friends, Family and loyal blogpost readers (I know I’ve been very slack with consistently keeping up with this! – I will be better in the future)
I have some really bittersweet news to tell you all.
I will be closing down our physiotherapy practice on the mid – late October 2018.
Most of you will have recognised that the way I treat patients can be a little unorthodox, compared to traditional physiotherapy. Over time, I have transitioned more into something called ConnectTherapy™, and there are a few therapists that I can recommend within Sydney who do this if you are interested.
ConnectTherapy™ is amazing, and it has really changed the way I treat. I was getting sick of treating patients and getting very average results, and with some people things that should work – didn’t. Getting frustrated with physiotherapy, I was looking for something more within our field.
Dr. LJ Lee has developed the Thoracic Ring Approach™ and ConnectTherapy™. I have been studying these methods for the last few years and been seeing some amazing results. Things that I thought we were not able to change, I have been able to improve.
ConnectTherapy™ looks at whole body connections, and how each area can influence each other. For example – I recently had someone with knee pain – meniscal, arthiritic changes through the outer part of the knee. Rather than treating that person’s knee, and getting fairly good results (as I would have in the past). I had to ask the question, “what is the person doing in this body that is loading this knee in a certain way?”, and looking at this in relation to gravity.
I found that this person has a overall shift of weight onto that side of the body (the side where the knee was problematic). I found that she had poor control in her thorax, and poor control in her opposite foot was shifting her centre of mass and base of support over. Over time, she was loading this knee poorly that had caused these changes and symptoms.
So we have been working on thoracic and foot control to optimise the forces through her knee and seeing great results.
As you can see, I have become very passionate with this method of treating, and the most unbelievable thing is, Dr LJ Lee, the person who created this model and has taught me so much, has offered me a position within her clinic in Canada.

Opening and operating Anatomy of Training has been such an awesome adventure, from the get go. But it’s each and everyone of you (my patients and loyal followers) that really made me want to turn up everyday, learn as much as I could and try my best to empower you to get back to doing the things you love. You guy & girls are my inspiration to be better.
Thank you all for being such great patients, and I’m sorry that I cannot continue something that has brought me so much joy over the last few years.
I opened my own clinic so that I could take my time with each patient, listen to your story and get you back to doing whatever it is that you love. I have been able to work on my own terms without time restraints, and with being pushed into a way of treating that I no longer believe in as much.
The best part of my job has been empowering each person I see to take control of their own injury and body, and show that anything is possible in your body.
So I guess my main message at the end of the day is:
Don’t let anyone tell you that you will never be able to do something you love again because of an injury.
There is a lot more change that can happen than we realise. Structural issues that show up on scans matter so little if you can holistically look at your body. The human body is amazing, and we should be able to move well, and feel great in it. So if you’re having trouble with this, please try not to feel too frustrated and seek help from a health professional (preferably someone who can look at you holistically – and here I go plugging ConnectTherapy™ again).
Try and find someone trained in this way:

I will continue blogging my adventures, and ocassionally some info about interesting cases and patients that I continue to treat. So please keep following me on Instagram – I will continue sharing my physio adventures / learnings!
